Good Samaritans of Garland (“Good Sam”) offers organizations a simple, meaningful way to serve indoors at an established Garland nonprofit helping local families experiencing hunger and food insecurity.
You do not have to create a service project from scratch. Good Sam already has the location, the work and the community need. Bring your people and put your team to work making a difference.

Your Team Can Help
Depending on Good Sam’s needs, volunteers may:
Welcome Guests
Greet and check in neighbors visiting the pantry, assist with registration and help guests take food to their vehicles. Spanish-speaking volunteers can also provide valuable translation assistance.
Support the Kitchen
Prepare food carts for guests and stock shelves with donations received from retail partners.
Keep the Pantry Moving
Assemble dry-goods boxes and produce bags, unload deliveries, restock shelves, refrigerators and freezers, and assist with cleanup.
Have people with special skills in logistics, languages, office support or other areas? Tell Good Sam about them. There may be additional ways your team can help.
Flexible Weekday Service
Volunteer shifts are available Monday through Friday, approximately 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., with flexibility during those hours.
Good Sam is closed Saturday and Sunday and cannot offer weekend volunteer shifts at this time.
