Help Clear a Drainage Ditch for a Neighborhood

We’re looking for caring volunteers to join CODE CARES for a neighborhood project that will make a real difference. The neighborhood has a drainage ditch that accumulated branches and litter over time. We're going to help. Volunteers will help remove wood debris and junk clogging a drainage ditch along the back alley, improving safety, drainage, and neighborhood conditions.

This project is conducted in partnership with Garland Code Compliance.

Project Details

  • Date: Saturday, January 31, 2026 (Rain or shine)

  • Time: 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
    (Volunteers may finish early depending on team size.)

  • Location: 4303 Burning Tree Ln, Garland, TX

Project Description

Volunteers will help:

  • Remove wood debris, junk, and obstructions from a drainage ditch along the back alley

  • Stack debris neatly for City pickup

  • Assist with general cleanup to restore safe water flow

Volunteers Needed

  • 75 - 100 Volunteers

  • No carpentry experience required — general labor

Recommended Tools (if available)

If you have these tools, bring them to the project site. It's okay if you don't. 

  • Wheelbarrows

  • Machetes, tree limb cutting tools

  • Gloves & safety glasses

City Support

The City of Garland will provide:

  • Work gloves

  • Heavy-duty trash bags

  • Water for volunteers

  • Trash collection after the project
